Our Station:

WCBN Sports is an entirely student run organization at the University of Michigan. It is affiliated with WCBN 88.3 FM Ann Arbor, the University's student run radio station.

Our department provides Michigan undergraduates with unparalleled opportunities in sports broadcasting.

Although our main focus is Michigan, we frequently discuss current events in all professional sports as well.

The radio station and all of its operations are performed from the basement of the Student Activities Building on Jefferson Street.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

Extra Points
Mondays 6:00-6:30
Extra Points recaps the previous weekend of Sports. During Football season we tend to focus exclusively on the previous Michigan Football game. Throughout the rest of the year we cover whatever the hot topics of the weekend were, from Michigan hockey or basketball to the national sports scene.

Daily Sports Report
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:15-5:30

The Daily Sports Report" is a 15 minute digest of up to the minute information on Michigan and national sports. DSRs are split between Michigan and national sports coverage. These slots are usually filled by underclassmen getting their first on air experience, but station regulars stop by often. This is perfect for the drive home or after-class listen.

Game of the Week
Friday 7:00-10:00

GOTW has been the cornerstone of WCBN Sports for more than half a decade. The department has a three hour block which usually features a Michigan game LIVE on the air. If there is no game on Friday night, the department hosts three one-hour sports talk shows covering everything in the world of sports. This is the perfect time for listeners to call in and voice their opinion. These shows are described below:

The Motown Lowdown - 7:00pm
Moving to the lead off slot this year is the Motown Lowdown with Tony Bolton and Christian Montgomery. The two enter their third year as broasdcast partners and the choas has just begun. Being natives of the Detroit area both have very passionate and sometimes different views on Detroit Sports. The spot light is all on the D here, as the Red Wings, Pistons, Tigers, and Lions take center stage in this 60 minutes of quick wit, smart ass come backs, and one liners.

Maize and Blue - 8:00pm
Hour two is hosted by juniors Rob Salaman and Stu Zaas, Maize and Blue covers everything Michigan. The show gives break downs, analysis, and previews of all Michigan athletics. If it involves the Maize and Blue than you'll find it here.

The Sports Fix - 9:00pm
Andrew Seid and Kevin Gregus take us to a close as they wrap up Game of the Week with an hour of covering the sports scence from across the USA. They have no fear discussing sports from the NFL to competitive hot dog eating, and yes, the NHL is included. Tune in to hear who they think are the heroes, tools, and deadbeats in the world of sports. It also gives the panel a chance to discuss and defend their favorite teams and players.
